Abstract
The article discusses a study pertaining to an employee's willingness to relocate and career advancement. Research has shown that an employee's willingness to relocate may depend on time based variables such as age, length of time in the job, and length of time living in the area. Situational variables which may impact an individual's desire to relocate include salary, job fulfillment, family status, and spouse's employment status. Employees with working spouses have been shown to have a higher willingness to relocate. Experts say the relationship between career and geographic mobility is complex. Keywords
