Abstract
Polymannophosphate was isolated from the hot ethanol extract of cells of M. tuberculosis (bovine type). It possesses 2.6 mol. of mannose /mol. of phosphate. The polymannophosphate content was higher in younger cells than in the aged cells. The ethanol extract gave 2 other polymannophosphate compounds, which were separated from the above non-dialyzable compound by a dialysis procedure. Keywords
