Abstract
This note presents an analysis of the pressure-transducer-related errors involved in reading the partial vacuum created in a soil tensiometer. As a specific example, the low-cost LX1804GB hybrid transducer is considered in detail. It is shown that this transducer, contrary to a previous claim, is not capable of matching the measurement accuracy of mercury manometers. © Williams & Wilkins 1984. All Rights Reserved.
