Hearing Impairment as the Initial Sign of Polyarteritis Nodosa

Abstract
Two cases of polyarteritis nodosa, in which hearing impairment was the initial sign, are reported. Only 8 cases of this type have been described previously. Aural symptoms were present in 5 out of 21 patients. The hearing impairment is a mixture of conductive and perceptive loss. The miraculous effect of steroid therapy upon the systemic symptoms as well as upon the granulomas of the upper airways and the hearing impairment is reported. Es wird über zwei Fälle von Polyarteritis nodosa mit Gehörschwachung als Initialsymptom berichtct. Nur 8 entsprecliende Fälle sind früher veröffentlicht. Bei 5 von 21 Patienten zeigten sich Ohrsyni])tome. Die Gehörschwachung besteht aus Schalleitungs- and Perzeptionsschwerhörigkeit. Die mirakulöse Wirkung von Steroidbehandlung aut sowohl Gemeinsymptome und Granulome in oberen Luftwegen als auch auf die Gehörschwächung wird besprochen
