Abstract
The optimum a posteriori filter for tracking a target in clutter is combined with an adaptive technique for tracking maneuvering targets. The resulting optimum filter requires an expanding memory. A Monte Carlo investigation of an N scan approximation to the optimum filter is also presented. Keywords
