Abstract
As clients move through recovery from sexual addiction and co-sex addiction and through recovery from underlying wounds, they eventually begin to try to claim “healthy sexuality.” The five-part Manley Model of Healthy Sexuality includes sexual personhood, relationships, behavior, physical capabilities, and spirituality. These five dimensions overlie three stages of healing: addictive/ victim, wounded survivor, and sexual thriver. This paper, using the author's extensive clinical experience, provides a theoretical overview of third-stage sexual-health recovery and guidance in practical applications for therapists who work with such persons.
