Abstract
Angina rarely appears in women under 40 yrs. of age. 84 women having angina and who were in the 6th and 7th decades were investigated. Pregnancy, menopause, mitral stenosis, myxedema in the absence of other heart disease, hyperthyroidism, diabetes and obesity were not correlated with the angina. There was a relationship to anemia, which may be due to anoxia alone or to the presence of coronary sclerosis and anemia appearing together. Positive correlation was found with hypertension. There was frequent previous infarction and evidence of coronary disease, which suggest that this is the important factor. Keywords
