Abstract
Both immune and nonimmune mechanisms may be involved in this disease. If its cause goes unrecognized and remains in the patient's environment, irreversible lung damage may result. Since signs and symptoms are nonspecific, diagnosis, management, and prevention depend heavily on history, which must take into account not only occupation but other activities that can provide antigen exposure. Keywords
