Nonleptonic Hyperon Decays in a Current-Current Quark Model

Abstract
The symmetric quark model is used to provide an explanation of the - and -wave non-leptonic hyperon decays. The current-algebra approach, applied to the current-current weak Hamiltonian constructed of Bose-type quark fields, leads to a remarkable agreement with experiment.
