Abstract
We explore the origin of the universal level spacing property in the quantum Hamiltonian system. Applicability and limitation of the conventional random matrix theory as a suitable model of the Hamiltonian matrix are studied. We also discuss whether there exists any possibility of constructing the stochastic model for describing the real Hamiltonian system. Keywords
