Abstract
A hypertensive patient with a history of diabetes and ischemic heart disease was given propranolol before ECT and experienced cardiac arrest after subconvulsive electrical stimulation. The authors suggest exercising caution when combining beta-adrenergic blockade and ECT.Keywords
