Abstract
The lorica of the freshwater nannoplankton flagellate Pseudokephyrion pseudospirale (Chrysophyceae or Chrysomonadida) has been examined by light and electron microscopy and found to possess a microfibrillar structure which becomes thickened and obscured by mineral deposition. Taxonomic implications are discussed. Keywords
