Abstract
This paper uses the term “violence” in the broader sense, monitors the changing magnitudes of armed violence and structural violence at the global and regional levels for the 20th century. It compares the magnitudes of the two types of violence and, discerns long‐term trends in the magnitudes of armed and structural violence that may exist in this century. Keywords
