Abstract
An unusual dispersal of black bear cubs (Ursus americanus) in Utah, USA is reported due to a drought and severe frost. Cubs are found unaccompanied by their mother. Due to food shortages, a longer nursing period is suggested, hindering the mother''s foraging attempts. Abandonment of the cubs by the mother is postulated when her own survival is risked. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
