Abstract
To the Editor: The following case report describes a defect in the widely used “push down to open,” “child-proof” safety cap. A 27-month-old boy ingested 50 ml of an antihistamine-decongestant mixture that his mother had diligently closed using its “push down to open safety top supplied by a local pharmacy.
