Abstract

Ethoxyethynylarenes 3 were synthesized by the palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction of aryl iodides 1 and ethoxy(tributylstannyl)acetylene (2). The ethoxyethynylarenes 3 were easily hydrated to ethyl areneacetates 4.
