Abstract

Renal insufficiency was prevented in a case of ethylene glycol intoxication. Treatment consisted of early institution of hemodialysis, alcohol infusion, administration of alkalinizing agents, and vigorous diuretic therapy. Recovery of renal function was complete in nine days.
