Abstract
In the spectrophotometry of absorption lines, and especially in stellar spectroscopy, the derived equivalent widths are shown to increase with the width of the analyzing slit. This effect may contribute toward the well-known general tendency for measured equivalent widths to increase as the linear dispersion decreases. Keywords
