Abstract
This paper analyzes the dispersion-allocated soliton in which the concept of the average solitons can be extended to the reverse group velocity dispersion regions. An important dispersion requirement is given to maintain the soliton. It is shown that the soliton pulse width is modified when the initial amplitude is changed. This is due to the fact that the dispersion broadening causes the decrease in the amplitude, hence, the nonlinearity, but it can be controlled by using a larger initial amplitude. Keywords
