Abstract
A series of mercaptoacylamino acids was synthesized and screened as angiotensin I-coverting enzyme inhibitors in animals. The inhibitory activities of these compounds were compared with that of (2S)-1-[(2S)-3-mercapto-2-methylpropanoyl]proline. The structure activity relationship of the compounds is discussed.
