Abstract
The authors present a new calculation of the astrophysical S factor for 3He( alpha , gamma )7Be at zero energy which does not require an energy extrapolation and is based on a simple model with parameters determined from independent data. They find S0=0.47+or-0.47+or-0.02 keV b in good agreement with direct cross-section measurements. Keywords
