Revived interest in the lunar atmosphere

Abstract
Despite its nearness, we know very little about the lunar atmosphere. Recent ground‐based observations, however, have increased our understanding of the atmosphere and our fascination with it. In the lunar atmosphere we can study important physical phenomena that also exist elsewhere in the solar system where they are not so easily examined. These phenomena also cannot be duplicated in terrestrial laboratories.
