Abstract
Summary Bowen's disease (BD; intraepithelial squamous cell carcinoma) is a challenging condition to treat because lesions, which can be multiple, are often located at sites that heal poorly, such as the shin. The disease is usually persistent and progressive and appears as an enlarging, demarcated erythematous plaque. Two elderly female patients with Bowen's disease of the lower leg are presented. Imiquimod 5% cream was applied in a cycle of three times weekly for 3 weeks followed by a 4‐week rest period. The treatment was successful after a second cycle of therapy, with both cases clinically clear at 2‐ and 3‐month follow‐up visits. Keywords
