Abstract
The article presents a panel discussion session on the objectives of executive development programs, as articulated by Massachusetts Institute of Technology program director Howard Johnson. Johnson examines the problem areas in executive development programs. Some factors of an effective executive development program are discussed, including selection criteria for participants, faculty commitment, and evaluation methods. The need for a strong affiliation between such development programs and the university and business school is also described.
