Abstract
Since the first applications of auditory evoked potentials to neuro-otological diagnosis and objective audiometry, many advances have been made in electrode technology, including the development of disposable electrodes. This paper describes the use of pre-gelled disposable electrodes in auditory brainstem response audiometry (ABR), this test being employed as part of a screening procedure for acoustic neuroma. Factors of patient safety, clinical time and cost are discussed. The use of disposable electrodes is considered a beneficial advance in the ABR test technique. Keywords
