Abstract
An all‐metal cryostat capable of maintaining a single crystal at liquid helium temperatures is described. One filling of liquid helium lasts over 10 days. Crystal orientation is obtained by mounting the cryostat on a large goniometer head and tilting the entire cryostat to the required position. The maximum semi‐vertical angle is 20°. The complete assembly is used with SCAND for routine measurement of the diffracted neutron intensities from single crystals in the temperature range between ca 4.6° and 1.5°K.Keywords
