Abstract
Ferroelastic crystals have been studied by SAM. The fringe patterns of the acoustic image around the domain boundary of NdP5O14 have been investigated at the operating frequencies of 200 MHz and 420 MHz. The wavelength λR of the leaky Rayleigh wave propagated perpendicular to the boundary has been determined from the null spacing of the V(z) curve measured by utilizing a cylindrical acoustic lens. It is confirmed that the space of the fringe is equal to λR/2. The discontinuity angle at a domain boundary of NdP5O14 has been determined from another interference fringe due to the inclination around the boundary.
