Abstract
We evaluate the electric microfield distribution in a multicomponent plasma (MCP). The method employed is an adaption of the very simple adjustable-parameter exponential approximation previously developed for one-component plasmas (OCP). We also discuss a still simpler approximation in which the MCP is replaced by an effective OCP. The results are generally close to each other and the former is in very good agreement with computer simulations. Keywords
