Abstract
The pros and cons of homework in arithmetic for elementary school pupils can provoke a lively discussion in almost any group. Certain feelings are revealed by these familiar questions that are often raised by parents and teachers: “Why doesn't my child bring home some arithmetic to work on?” “Why does my child have to do his arithmetic at home?” “How much homework should I assign?” “Is homework of value to the learner?”
