Abstract
THERE is general agreement in the medical profession that antibiotics are used much too freely. Articles dealing with this subject appear from time to time in most medical journals. A common problem in the compilation of these reports has been the difficulty of obtaining accurate patient data that would be typical for the average civilian community with its normal distribution of ages and sex. This situation does not prevail in the community where we have served our tours of military service.
