Separation of Metal Halides by Gas Chromatography

Abstract

The separation of the following salts by gas chromatography is described: a) SnCl₄ SnBr₄, Snl₄ b) AsCl₃ and GeCl₄, and c) FeCl₃ and HgCl₂. A laboratory constructed gas chromatography apparatus for use at higher temperatures was developed. Investigations were made of the thermal stability and volatility of different materials considered suitable for use as the liquid stationary phases.
