Abstract
The Sydney University particle telescope has been used to examine the various types of heavy particles travelling with beta <or=0.7 in the sea-level cosmic radiation flux. Fluxes of normal heavy particles (i.e. deuterons, tritons and alphas) are estimated. Upper limits are placed upon the presence of heavier particles of unit or fractional charge. Various unusual events are discussed together with a detailed consideration of the ways in which spurious triggers can occur. Keywords
