Abstract
The wave functions for the lowest-energy states with different angular momenta of the nuclei , , , , and resulting from simple shell-model calculations are compared with the wave functions with definite angular momenta projected from (deformed) determinantal intrinsic states for these nuclei. Significant resemblance between the two is found. An attempt is made to give some insight into the general features which emerge from the comparison of the two sets of wave functions.
