Abstract
The optimum (minimum mean square error) linear time-invariant equalizer for PAM over a randomly selected noisy channel is specified. An example shows the trade-offs between local oscillator phase error, sampling time error, and excess bandwidth in the synchronous demodulation of passband pulses.Keywords
