Abstract
A novel ligand oxidation of CuI and CuII benzylic alcoholates and diaryl acetic carboxylates to carbonyl compounds by trimethylamine N-oxide gives support to the existence of cupryl (–CuIII O) intermediates, previously postulated in the reaction of CuI derivatives with dioxygen. Keywords
