Abstract
The need for automatic control of the drying process is reviewed and some systems which have been put forward for this purpose are described briefly. Reasons for their lack of acceptance are advanced, and some recent work which suggests a new approach to the problem is summarized. The simple modifications to existing tenters to adapt them for control are mentioned, and a simple control system applicable in all situations is proposed. Keywords
