Detection of Peripheral Soft Tissue Hemangioma with 99mTc-Labeled Red Blood Cell Pool Imaging

Abstract
A case is presented in which a cavernous hemangioma was detected in an extremity by means of radiolabeled red blood cell pool imaging. This is a new application of this radionuclide technique, which served as a guide for selective arteriography to accurately define the anatomy and blood supply of the lesion. Radiolabeled blood pool imaging may be an important noninvasive approach to detection of hemangiomatous malformations.
