Abstract
Among the elderly, suicide-attempt groups had more physical disorders, more psychoses and more psychopathologic findings, and were under-represented demographically. Of the elderly suicide attempters, 50% had organic brain syndrome (OBS), compared to only 5-10% of the normal population over age 60. OBS apparently interfered with the success of suicide attempts by impairing coordination, planning, determination and awareness of reality. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
