Photoacoustic in vivo study of the penetration of sunscreen into human skin

Abstract
Photoacoustic spectroscopy offers the opportunity of detecting the diffusion of light-absorbing drugs into the skin. We report on in vivo measurements on human skin treated with sunscreens. The experimental setup is described, and the transfer properties of the open-ended detector are discussed theoretically and experimentally.
