Abstract
The article discusses sources of power among work unit peers in organizations. The study examines power sources in terms of power bases, including reward, expertise, legitimate authority and coercive and referent power. According to the author, this study attempts to measure the relationship between the utilization of power bases and informal influence in organizations. The author notes that in this case, informal influence is equivalent to influence exerted by subordinates over their superior as well as later influence among work units.
