The Genetics of Colonization: Loss of Variability among Introduced Populations of Anolis Lizards (Reptilia, Lacertilia, Iguanidae)

Abstract
Electrophoretic techniques were used to study genetic variability (polymorphism and heterozygosity) in seven populations of introduced Anolis lizards and in their source populations. In each case the introduced population has fewer polymorphic loci than the source population. Six of seven introduced samples also have lower heterozygosity estimates.
