Abstract
The synthesis of the homologous series of (I) amino alcohols H[NH(CH2)6]nOH, wheren= 1–9, and (II) their methylated products CH3[NH(CH2)6]nOH, wheren= 1–9, is described. These compounds are easily prepared by lithium aluminum hydride reduction of oligamides of ϵ‐aminocaproic acid. Nylon 6, the crystalline part of silk, and the tetrapeptide Gly‐Ala‐Gly‐Ala were also to their corresponding amino alcohols. Keywords
