Abstract
Extract Viruses responsible for most respiratory diseases in cats still remain the major cause of concern to many cat breeders, especially pedigree owners. Two separate and distinct types of viruses appeared to be the main pathogens causing the syndrome known locally as “snuffles” in Dunedin (Brehaut et al, 1969 Brehaut, Loreen , Jones, R. H. , McEwan, P. J. and Miles, J. A. R. 1969. Viruses associated with feline respiratory disease in Dunedin. N.Z. vet. J., 17: 82–86. [Taylor & Francis Online] [Google Scholar] ; Tan, 1970 Tan, R. J. S. 1970. “Feline Respiratory Virus Diseases: Attempted immunization and the development of serological techniques”. In M.Sc. thesis, University of Otago.
