EYE MOVEMENTS TO PERIPHERAL VISUAL STIMULI WERE ANALYZED FOR DURATION AND FREQUENCY OF OCCURRENCE OF OVER- AND UNDERSHOOTS. THE MEAN DURATION OF UNDERSHOOTS WAS SIGNIFICANTLY GREATER THAN THE DURATION OF OVERSHOOTS. WHEN THESE ERRORS OCCURRED, SS TENDED TO UNDERSHOOT THE STIMULI AT LARGE ANGLES AND OVERSHOOT THE STIMULI AT SMALLER ANGLES.
