Abstract
Bei zwei Patienten wurden thrombotische Verschlüsse der Arteria poplítea festgestellt. Es handelte sich um das noch wenig bekannte Kompressionssyndrom der Arteria poplítea, das auf einer Verlaufsanomalie des Gefäßes beruht. Die Natur der Schädigung ist mechanischer und nicht degenerativer Art. Die Diagnose stützt sich vorwiegend auf typische Befunde der Arteriographie, wird aber erst durch die Operation endgültig gesichert. Therapeutisch ist die chirurgische Desobliteration angezeigt; sie hat bei den eigenen und den in der Literatur beschriebenen Fällen durchwegs gute Resultate gezeigt. Thrombotic occlusion of the popliteal artery, due to compression of the popliteal artery between the two heads of the gastrocnemius was diagnosed in two patients. The arteriogram tends to have a typical appearance but only operation can confirm the condition. Surgical thrombectomy and shifting of the medial head of the gastrocnemius brought cure to both patients. El síndrome de compresión de la arteria poplítea En dos pacientes se comprobaron oclusiones trombóticas de la arteria poplítea. Se trataba del síndrome de compresión de la arteria poplítea, aún poco conocido, que se basa en una anomalía en el curso del vaso. La naturaleza de la lesión es mecánica y no degenerativa. El diagnóstico se apoya sobre todo en los típicos hallazgos de la arteriografía, pero adquiere certeza definitiva por la operación. Terapéuticamente está indicada la desobliteración quirúrgica; ésta ha mostrado generalmente buenos resultados en los casos propios y en los descritos en la literatura.
