Abstract
To the Editor.— The association of piebaldness with Hirschsprung's disease was noted in a letter by Mahakrishnan and Srinivasan in the October 1980Archives(116:1102). The authors suggested that "such an association has not been reported earlier, to the best of our knowledge." In fact, I noted this association in an article published in theArchives of Ophthalmology1and suggested that the human condition might be homologous with that noted in piebald mice with megacolon.2 I have subsequently seen two other persons with this syndrome. The association of Hirschsprung's disease with cutaneous pigmentary abnormalities has also been recently noted in Waardenburg's syndrome. Letters will be published as space permits and at the discretion of the editor. All components of letters, including references, must be typewritten, double-spaced. Do not include more than five references and two figures in duplicate. Letters should not exceed 500 words in length. Three copies ofKeywords
