Quantization of the Generalized Hamiltonian

Abstract
Quantization of systems described by Lagrangians with higher‐order derivatives is performed. It is shown that the usual Lagrangian with first‐order derivatives may be consistently replaced by one with second‐order derivatives, the resulting wavefunction being one of a mixed representation.Keywords
