Abstract
A 30-yr.-old soldier developed cervical actinomycosis 10 days after diving into a pile of hay in Louisiana. The mass steadily increased in size for 3 months but no sinus formation occurred. After intensive treatment with penicillin, sulfadiazine, and KI for 3 wks., the mass was excised and a straw 1 cm. in length was found embedded near the tonsillar region. Chemotherapy was continued for 2 mos. with complete recovery. Keywords
