Abstract
Initial findings of computer-assisted diagnosis of [human] cerebral tumors using Bayes'' Theorem and CT [computed tomography] scans were described. For various sets of signs, tables of accuracy and reliability were constructed, and a computer vs. radiologist analysis for 3 types of tumor was made. Based only on the results of CT scans, the computer produced diagnoses relatively quickly, and these were of reasonable accuracy when compared with the radiologists'' reports. The worst results occurred in the prediction of meningiomas. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
