Abstract
Continuation studies on coccidiosis as found in Natal indicate that the causative organism is usually Isospora belli, although occasional finds of Isospora hominis are made. These 2 forms are considered as valid spp. in the sense of the authorities quoted. One case of Isospora rivolta was isolated. Some of the forms identified as I. hominis cannot be separated morphologically from I. bigemina, large race, and the identity of the 2 is strongly suggested. Isospora bigemina holds priority in nomenclature. If such synonomy is correct, then the idea of host-specificity among the spp. if Isospora has received a death blow. Keywords
